Drill Sergeant

When I first started reading blogs, I thought,  “How easy is this”, write a few words, and post pictures of what I’m wearing. Simple, right? So I started my own blog, it was kinda easy at first because I had some outfit pictures in my archive, which made it easy to post everyday! Ten months later, my posts are getting more sporadic. It was not as easy as I thought. It’s quite a task, especially when this isn’t my full time job. So what I’m asking is that you guys please be patient with me, and I’ll try to post a little more frequently.

Shorts: Sears, Jacket: Thrifted, Shoes: Steve Madden, Purse: Jessica Simpson, Watch: MK, Accessories: Claires & Cotton On, Nails: Sinful Colors

I would like to say a few Thank You’s to some wonderful people. First, I would like to thank all of my readers. I hope you’re enjoying the blog! Secondly, I would like to thank my girl, Jai (The Bare Skinny & Southern Fashionality), for putting up with my 1,000,000 questions about WordPress. She’s helped me tremendously, and given me lots of tips. And last, but not least, the wonderful, wonderful, Eboni (The Fashionista Next Door), for completely revamping my blog, and just taking the stress off me. I was about to throw in the towel, yall. Everything was looking CRAZY, and Eboni stepped up and helped a sister out. I appreciate all of you.

Talk to you soon,

Love this outfit! Reminds me of my ROTC drill team days but way cuter. I know what you mean about sporadic posts…I been a bum all week and haven’t posted a thing. Makes me feel bad because your followers look forward to it, but sometimes you just don’t have that extra umph you need.

I think your jacket would be cute worn the exact same way belted with skinnies too =).

I’m glad you didn’t throw in the towel because this outfit is too good to miss. I’ve been hunting for an army/military inspired jacket for so long. I love how you added feminine touches like those killer heels and cute topper, it plays off the jacket’s tough military vibe perfectly.

When I started blogging I was getting so discouraged because it seemed impossible to consistent create and post content while having a social life and full time job. Eventually I developed a posting schedule and started setting aside blogging time for myself and it really helped me stay excited about blogging.

    Great post!

Everything on the blog looks great. I just learned how to do self-timer on my camera, so I may go into post overload. Today’s fit…umm hmmm…
I like how you put the fascinator in it. Edgy.

Don’t throw in the towel *whimper, whimper*!! I think most of your followers relate and understand not being able to post often. I find myself constantly apologizing about not being able to post as often as I would like, but there’s only 24 hours a day and all of us are in pursuit of trying to balance that time with our to-do lists! I enjoy reading your post whenever you’re able to get them posted. While we want to be consistent for our followers, you can only do what you can, when you can! I work, I’m married, I got chirren (lol), we pastor a church, and I was in school- we just can’t do it all! Love the outfit especially those shoes!!

looks like we had the same idea with the camo in our latest:)

i tried to post all the time too, but what gets in the way more than anything for me is that i don’t always have someone around to shoot what i wear, and sometimes i don’t feel like dressing with my bloggers hat on. so i cut back to twice a week and so far so good. i prefer quality over quantity by far!

First of all, you’re giving me EVERYTHING with that hair bow…very “Carrie-esque” #werk!!!

Secondly, congrats on the revamp taking on WordPress can be a bit of a pain, but the benefits far outweigh the headaches in the beginning. It’s great to have supportive people around you who can lend their ideas & talents to make us better.

Don’t beat yourself up on your blogging consistency. Blogging is a full time commitment, but the good thing about it is once you’ve found your audience they’ll be here waiting for what’s next. Looking fab doll!
