Have you ever been to one of these cheapie little dollar stores and see a piece of art that is kinda cute? That’s what happened to me one day while in a store called Maxway. I’m not sure if they’re all over the U.S., but they are in Florida. I stop in from time to time, just to see what they have. I fell in love with this leopard canvas print. The only thing is that it had this extremely shiny clear coat over the top of it. That made it look so cheap! But, I still loved it. I put it in my cart, and continued to walk around a bit. The entire time, I was trying to think how in the world I could transform this piece to make it look “expensive”. Then a light bulb went off! I could spray paint it, then rough it up a bit with a little sandpaper. If my plan failed, it was only $9.Continue Reading

I thought I’d invite a few friends over to hang out in our backyard. I absolutely LOVE our patio, but thought I would switch up the pace, by creating this super colorful, and vibrant area on our lawn. I threw down a few waterproof rugs that I scored from World Market for $5 each! Even though they aren’t the exact same rugs, I paired them together to have this really cool layered look! I added a few throws, and side tables to make the look come together.
I just wanted to show you guys a new pair of heels that I picked up from Zara for $35.99. I don’t own too many pairs of these basic type of sandals, but they are super sexy! I noticed they are only $25.99 online, but may be sold out. You may still be able to find them in stores!
Good Morning! I have a small giveaway for you guys today. If you watched my Yard Sale Vlog, then you saw me carrying one of these totes while shopping. I just love these little bags to throw on my shoulder when heading to scour the thrift stores or yard sales. They were such a good price; I thought why not buy 3 of them so that I can give them away!
All you have to do is leave a comment here letting me know that you’d like to win one. How easy is that? Nope, you don’t even have to follow my blog, you don’t have to enter a Rafflecopter giveway, none of that. Just leave me a comment and I’ll pick a winner.
I’m giving away 1 bag here on the blog, 1 on Instagram, and 1 on my Facebook page. That means you have 3 chances to win if you enter all 3. Do feel free to share this with your friends so they have a chance to win one as well!
Giveaway ends Wednesday, July 8th! Good Luck!!
First, we started with a stack of pallets. I think we purchased 15 and they were $2 each (I ended up only needing about 6 of them). The initial plan was to make a back to the benches, but after looking at the patio, we didn’t think that was feasible. The back would have ended up leaning against the screen, maybe causing it to tear. Continue Reading
I found this awesome set of patio chairs at a yard sale for $16! Me, being the budget – fashionista that I am, thought $16 was a bit much. I was thinking more along the lines of $10. Believe it or not, I’m not much of a haggler. I have probably walked away from some pretty good finds because I didn’t want to offer the seller less money. I guess it has to do with the fact that I’ve had yard sales in the past, and when people try to low-ball me, I get really annoyed. FAST! After consulting with my better half about these chairs, I was assured that I was getting a great price. So I got them. They didn’t need much work at all. I wiped them down, gave them a few coats of black spray paint, and they were all done! I’m so happy I didn’t walk away this time. They are some of the most comfortable patio chairs I’ve ever sat in. I hope to have a patio reveal within a few weeks. It has truly come a long way!
So, I finally uploaded another YouTube video after 2 years! LOL! A lot of you ask me about thrifting, yard sales, and Craigslist so I thought I’d make a “follow me around” type of video. I’m not the best video editor in the world, but I gave it a shot. The more videos I make, the better they will start to become. Let me know if you like these types of videos, and I’ll make more in the future. Also, let me know what you’d like for me to do differently. I definitely want your feedback! Thank you all for watching and enjoy your day!
Today I have another thrift store makeover for you guys. Again, an easy one! I love knocking these “quickies” off my project list. Here are the $4 brass lamps I started with. Very old and dingy. I always start by using a damp rag, along with warm water and vinegar to clean each piece. If I wasn’t using spray paint, and I wanted to keep the lamps brass, I would have just shined them up with Barkeeper’s Friend. In this case, I definitely wanted to spray paint.Continue Reading
