Super Simple Peach Dumplings


As you may not know, I’m a Food Network fanatic. Every free chance I get, that’s what I’m watching. The other day, I was watching Trisha’s Southern Kitchen, and she made these delicious looking apple dumplings. They looked super easy to make & only required a handful of ingredients. Truthfully, I only had to buy the biscuits. Everything else I had in the pantry or the fridge!  What scared me about this recipe is that you have to pour the butter mixture over the biscuits and bake. I just knew they’d come out all soggy & mushy. They totally did not! They were the perfect texture & so good. Shamefully, I ate 3 in one sitting *covers face*

Let’s get to the recipe…….

  • 1 peach
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • (2) 5 canned buttermilk biscuits
  • 4 teaspoons ground cinnamon

015 Start by making your sugar mixture. Add the stick of butter, water, vanilla, and 3/4 cups of sugar to medium heat.

006 Cut your peaches into 10 wedges (8 wedges if you’re only using 8 biscuits)


026 Open each biscuit & place a peach inside


038 Fold the biscuit over itself, making sure all ends are sealed. Place in a baking dish. *I opted to butter my baking dish, but this may not be necessary*

043 Pour your sugar mixture over the biscuits

047In a small bowl, add 1/4 cup of sugar & the cinnamon. Stir until well mixed. Sprinkle this mixture over the biscuits. Bake for 40 minutes

071SUPER EASY! You can use whatever type of fruit you like. I think I’ll try the apples next time. These were a hit in my house.

Super Simple Peach Dumplings


  • 1 peach
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • (2) 5 canned buttermilk biscuits
  • 4 teaspoons ground cinnamon


Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

In a medium saucepan, mix 1 cup water, 3/4 cup of the sugar, the butter and vanilla. Bring the sugar mixture to a boil over medium heat.

Peel and slice the peaches vertically into 10 slices each.

Separate each biscuit into 2 layers. Wrap a biscuit layer around a slice of peach, stretching the biscuit slightly to overlap, and seal on the bottom. Place the wrapped slices, sealed-side down, in a casserole dish. Pour the hot sugar mixture over the peach slices. Mix the remaining 1/4 cup sugar with the cinnamon and sprinkle the mixture over the tops of the wrapped peaches. Bake until golden brown, 40 minutes.

    OMG! I love me some Peach Cobbler and I make it atleast once every 2 weeks (when the batch runs out. LOL I am going to try this!!!!!!!!!!! I have everything but the stick of butter… going to make it tomorrow. LOL LOL LOL
