Country Girl at Heart

I told you guys in a previous post that I am a country girl at heart! I love to fish. I love to street race while running barefoot, and I have a very southern draw. Most people don’t see this side of me because I’m always “glammed up” per say. I was raised purely in the country. There were no red lights, no grocery stores, malls, movie theaters, anything. You name it, and we didn’t have it. To this day, there are only 2 convenient stores in my little hometown. You have to travel about 30-45 minutes to get to a mall. Can you believe I grew up like that? That’s probably why I can’t stop my shopping obsession! LOL!

What is one thing that most people don’t know about you?

Sounds like my up brining, we moved from Brooklyn to Rocky Point, NC when I was in 1st grade felt like I was on another planet. No street lights, the nearest neighbor was miles away, no cable, we had a clothes line and garden, we raised pigs in the back yard and we smoked our own meat! I knew it was real when I saw my grandad ring a chickens neck, I was tramtized by that, lol.

this post is so funny, but i can totally understand it! so many people don’t understand that you can be from the country but not listen to country music or wear cowboy boots and carharts. hahaha! i love sparkles, heels, and dresses, and because of this, not many people believe that i live on a farm!

I must say I know where you are coming from girl!!!! I grew up the exact same way, no malls, no street lights, and such. I must admit that I did not get into all the outdoorszy (if that is a word) stuff because most of the time I participated in after school activities. I can assure, it ain’t nothing wrong with being a little country. I’m proud to say so myself.

I can totally relate. I lived in a pretty rural area when I was younger. Thank goodness for online shopping.

Look at you fishing! That’s so cool! Most people don’t know that I love to play paintball. Not that girly indoor paintball, but the outdoor over a few acres, put on fatigues and roll around in the dirt paintball.

Priceless upbringing…you can’t buy those kind of moments. Was just thinking how my kids are missing out on the wonderful life I had growing up in Jamaica- going to the countryside for the summer, swimming in a river, no cable!! lol. Hopefully they will get a bit of it now that we are in the south but my husband is so “citified” he won’t even go camping!

its nice to see another side of ppl. looks like you had fun 🙂 i’m a HUGE tomboy at heart. name a sport, i have played it. LOL…i would rather be in a pair of sweats and sneakers rolling around in the mud any day. i’ve played soccer since i was 10 and even had a scholarship as a soccer goalie in college; LOVED it. so yea, most ppl don’t know that and when i tell them, they are shocked. LOL.

A lot of people don’t know that I was in the Navy for four years. When we use to go out to sea for long periods of time, one of the chief’s would bring his fishing rod and we would try (keyword being try) to fish over the side of the ship. lol

It looks like you had so much fun.
I was BANNED from fishing by my dad because he just KNEW I would get someone’s hook stuck in me…
Never tried it as an adult.

Very cool to see this side of you. Love that you fish. I used to when I was a child at the Lake with my grandma.
Let’s see, I’d say that I’m pretty good at playing volleyball.

Ladybug we only have one store now. I am still living in that small town and what I like about it is everybody know you. You walk down the street and speak to people. You stop and have a conversation with your neighbors. Most people live in a place for years and never know what their neighbors names are. I love my small town. I love you too Prissy.
