Each year I create 2 wishlists. One for spring/summer and one for fall/winter. Starting this week, I will feature one key item from my wishlist & share it with you guys. This week, my fall/winter piece is velvet. Velvet is such a rich & luxurious fabric. Its not just a thing of the 90′s anymore. Velvet blazers are at the top of my “velvet” wishlist. They are so versatile. You can literally throw them on with an abundance of things….from jeans, to skirts, to shorts with tights. I cant imagine spending tons of money on trendy pieces. I’d much rather scour my local thrift stores in search of the perfect piece!

I’m actually wearing velvet-like olive green pants today, I love a few key pieces, Not all at once, just one @ a time like the blazer, pants, hot shoes..just the right touch, never overdoing it.. If it’s done right, I think velvet looks spectcular.
Love it..and it always comes in a rich deep looking color..love deep purple or green ….
I didn’t even know it was a trend, thought it was always a classic material that would always be around just done in different styles. Nice picks.
One of my fave fall purchases are 2 velvet blazer I got from Old Navy at least 4 years ago. I cannot wait to bust those babies out… I am going to wait until October because it has not gotten cool enough for them here in GA. But October 1st they will make their arrival!!

*in George Costanza voice* “What is that, velvet??” I’m a fan in small doses, I found a navy velvet J. Crew blazer at the thrift store (where else?) for $4 and I can’t wait to wear it! I love the shoes you featured on your post, you know I’m upping my shoe game, lol!
Major fan. I actually have a black elvet one button blazer. I can’t wait to break it out. I want to wear it with a pair of tweed shorts and red bow tie blouse.
And velvet shoes are a major YES.
I love velvet with a balance. I have never mastered the blending of fabrics. Maybe I can venture outside of the box.

Anywho, I’ve always liked velvet. This trend always seem to make its way back to us, no? I just got this cute black velvet cheetah dress from the thrift store last week. I also have a black velvet cropped vest in my possession, too. I wouldn’t mind a blazer, though.
I just scored the cutest teal one (Old Navy) from Goodwill last weekend for $5. I can’t wait to wear it! The jewel toned ones are gorgeous.
I love velvet I just found a blazer from the Limited at Goodwill this weekend; it’s a dark fuchsia berry color. I also found one at a garage sale 4 yrs ago that’s burgundy; which is such a great fall color!!
I can’t say I have always been a fan of velvet, but I am loving the velvet blazers and the heels!! might have to look into adding them into my wardrobe for this Fall/Winter!

i literally droll everytime i see velvet. especially velvet shoes. its a vibrant fabric.
i love velvet. one of my favorite fall/winter dresses is velvet. i also had a velvet dark blue blazer from old navy years ago…wish i still had it :-/

I purchased a black velvet blazer back in March from Zara. I knew it would be in season again this winter so I was lucky enough to scoop it up for only $30 bucks….originally $129 (you know that’s one of Zara’s favorite prices, lol). But I do believe the best velvet treasures are indeed in thrift stores.
I LOVE this trend!! I can’t wait to pull out my velvet blazer again.. LOL You will be happy to know that I found mine thrifting last fall/winter. But those velvet shoes are the BOMB.com Need a pair in my life!

I think Velvet is an awesome trend for the fall!! I’m on the search for a purple and green velvet blazer!! I’m mad that I didn’t get one last yr on sale that was on sale at Kohl’s (man that was stupid..lol)
